PlushBeds Cool Bliss Review
Our PlushBeds Cool Bliss mattress review gives our experience sleeping on this 12″ memory foam latex hybrid model that promises to leave the sleeper awakened, refreshed and energized.
The Cool Bliss provides optimal comfort from the use of patented PlushFoam that dissipates heat and moisture 3X faster than traditional memory foam using what it calls the world’s most superior cooling gel, in combination with the bounce and resiliency of natural latex mattress.
This is a very Plush bed and we enjoyed it quite a bit – please read our review for more of our findings! (Review updated)
Construction and Materials
The PlushBeds Cool Bliss hybrid latex and memory foam mattress is made up of 4 layers of foam and latex, including their patented gel memory foam for temperature regulation as well as ARPICO latex for resiliency and bounce. The Cool Bliss mattress is composed of the following layers:
- 3″ Top layer – The top layer is made of the patented Cool Bliss Gel memory foam. This layer is designed to provide cooling and comfort for the sleeper and also provide compression support and pressure relief during the night.
- 2″ Transition layer – This layer is made up of 100% ARPICO latex that is designed to provide some bounce and response between the comfort and support layers.
- 2″High Density Support layer – This layer is a 2.5lb Air Flow layer to provide the mattress with air circulation as well as ensuring the mattress has an even, cool temperature throughout.
- 5″ Bottom layer – This foundation layer is made of 5lb dense support latex foam. This provides the foundation for the mattress that is designed to work with the top layers to create great support and provide bounce-back from movement through the top layers.
The Cool Bliss has a very luxurious cover that serves to augment the cooling properties of the mattress by wicking away moisture and dissipating heat as well.
Firmness & Support
In terms of firmness, we feel the Cool Bliss mattress is more of a 5 out of 10 (with 10 being the firmest). This mattress is definitely on the soft and plush side, and is marketed as such.
This mattress is designed to appeal to sleepers who like soft mattresses but ones that also have underlying support.
In terms of support, the Cool Bliss does a good job of providing support past the comfort layers with their heavy foam core and support bases. The addition of the latex layer adds some bounce below the soft cushioning layer which provides some pushback and response.
The different foam and latex layers work well together to provide just the right amount of support without being too soft. Edge support isn’t very good due to the softness of the mattress, but when lying down on the bed your body is supported evenly and comfortably.
We felt the Cool Bliss was a really comfortable mattress, especially if you like soft mattresses that you “sink” into. The combination of gel cooling foam, ARPICO latex, and Air Flow layers do a great job of providing comfort and support that molds to your body.
The addition of the latex helps provides response and doesn’t cause you to feel stuck or trapped in the mattress. The gel memory foam layer and latex layer provides a good amount of bounce as well, and helps when transitioning from side to side during the night.
The cover is very soft and comfortable, and seemed to help provide a cooler sleeping surface to the mattress in combination with the gel foam later beneath it. Neither of us woke up with any hip or back pain which mattresses that are on the softer side can often cause.
This mattress does a very good job of dissipating heat, and the company claims a 30% reduction in heat transfer due to its patented Cool Bliss Gel layer.
We did feel it slept very cool in fact, with the gel doing a good job of reducing heat buildup at night. The soft, breathable cover also helps wick away heat and moisture transfer from the body during the night which also contributes to a cooler sleeping surface.
We would rate the Cool Bliss above average in terms of sleeping cool. It is significantly better than most memory foam and latex mattresses in this regard.
Sinkage and Motion Transfer
Now to preface this section, this bed is called a “PlushBed” and it is exactly that. Upon sitting on it or lying down, I sunk down at least 6″ into the top comfort foam layers, and was enveloped in a nice, cushy foam layer.
At first I thought it was too soft, but then I felt the support beneath it and grew to really enjoy the softness. You get what you pay for, and this PlushBed is going to have some sinkage given the design.
Again, this is highly dependent on sleeper weight. As I weigh considerably more than Kaye, around 230 lbs, I tend to compress most foam mattresses a lot more than Kaye. Kaye also felt the sinkage as well, but less so due to her weight.
We didn’t feel like we were “sinking toward each other” via my unequal weight, however, as the mattress does a good job of providing individual support.
Edge support was not very good given the softness of the top layer of the bed, but again – this is largely by design as this is a very soft and plush mattress.
Smell / Off-Gassing
The PlushBed had very low smell / off-gassing odor when we opened it. There was a small degree of smell but nothing too overpowering compared to other mattresses that we have reviewed.
PlushBeds has above standard warranty and support offerings. The offer a 25 year warranty as well as offer mattress setup and removal options as well. Most mattresses in this category share about the same offerings in terms of sleep trials and warranty, but PlushBeds goes a little extra with their support and offerings.

We feel the PlushBeds Cool Bliss mattress is a great choice for someone wanting a very plush, thick (12″) foam and latex mattress.
The mattress is definitely on the soft side, but does provide support beneath the soft comfort layers for good sleep and not cause discomfort. The patented gel memory foam construction does a good job of cooling during the night and providing a comfortable nights sleep.
It also provides a moderate amount of response along with the traditional body hug that memory foam is known for. The Cool Bliss provides great support for all sleeping positions, and despite initially feeling very soft, molds and supports the body in all sleeping positions without causing any pain or discomfort.
We hope that our PlushBeds Cool Bliss mattress review helped you learn more about this great mattress! We feel it is a great choice for someone that likes the soft plush feel of memory foam without the heat buildup or feeling trapped sensation that often comes along with that.
