best new brand - hope aspire hybrid

In this review, we take a look at the Hope DreamZone Hybrid mattress, the newest addition to the excellent and affordable range of mattresses offered by Hope mattress manufacturer.

We have previously reviewed the Hope Original and Hope Aspire Hybrid, both of which have scored high during our extensive testing and found their way to the top of our list of the highest-rated mattresses of 2022.

The DreamZone Hybrid is a 12″ mattress that features five separate uniquely designed layers that promise to deliver a perfect blend of firm and soft support, amazing pressure relief, and advanced cooling.

While the DreamZone is a luxury model built of the highest quality materials, it comes in at a lower price than most other luxury hybrids.

Further in this review, we will discuss the construction, comfort, performance of this mattress, commercials, and more to help you decide if this bed is the right pick for you. Review updated Mar 18, 2022 @ 2:17 pm

Materials

The Hope DreamZone Hybrid is a 12″ mattress, made up of 5 layers of the highest-quality memory foam and pocketed coil springs.

It starts with the Deep Freeze Plus Cooling cover. The cover is made of a silky smooth fabric that features an adaptive cooling technology. It feels really cool to the touch and helps with heat build-up in that it will draw heat away from your body to help you fall asleep faster and sleep cool throughout the whole night.

Below it, we have 1″ of pressure mapping Atlas PR Gel Memory Foam that provides cooling as well as a nice body hug and contouring.

This layer combines with 1″ of the company’s specialty Cloud Motion Gel Memory Foam. This layer will enhance cooling and provide you with a “cloud-like” feel while preventing motion transfer between you and your partner and allowing you a peaceful and undisturbed night’s sleep.

Below that, we have 1″ of medium density Orthopedic Support Foam that acts as a transition layer and enables a gradual transition between the softer top comfort layers of foam and firmer foundation layers. It is made of resilient premium breathable foam and will provide a medium-firm supportive foundation to the upper layers and prevent the “quicksand” feeling.

Below these layers of foam, there is an 8″ Sonic Coil System made of sonic welded pocketed coils. These are individually wrapped steel coils that provide a balanced response without too much sinkage. Each spring is in its own individual pocket which allows It to work on its own instead of working all together and making you feel as if you are sinking down into the mattress.

This layer also features excellent edge-to-edge support and provides a greater sleeping surface, reduces the amount of motion transfer and sagging in springs for longevity.

At the bottom, there’s a 1″ layer of the Everlast HD Core Foam which is a high-density foam that serves as the long-lasting core of comfort and deep compression support. It serves as the foundation for the mattress, provides support for the layers above, and increases the overall durability and stability of the mattress.

Finally, there’s a Non-Slip Base made of stretch non-skid fabric that will keep your mattress perfectly in place and prevent it from sliding.

So, this mattress is a perfect combination of hybrid coils and foam and is the best of both worlds, so you will get the bounce and responsiveness of springs and at the same time the soft and comforting body-contouring features of memory foam.

Comfort/Firmness

The Hope DreamZone Hybrid mattress is, just like the previous models that we have reviewed, a universal comfort model, designed to appeal to a wide range of sleepers with different needs and sleep preferences.

We felt it to be around a 5 on the firmness scale (10 being the firmest), which is exactly how the company rates this mattress as you can see from the firmness graphic given below that you can also find on their site.

Hope DreamZone Hybrid mattress firmness scale

Hope DreamZone Hybrid mattress firmness scale

This means that the Hope DreamZone Hybrid is a medium-firm mattress and will provide you with a nice combination of the support from the pocketed coil springs and the comfort coming from the memory foam layers. So, you are going to get the best of both worlds hybrid feel.

It offers excellent support even for heavier sleepers such as myself (230 lbs). The coils do a great job of supporting my heavier weight with ease, while the softer memory foam layers on top cradle my hips and shoulders to prevent the appearance of pressure points.

The mattress allows you to have a body hug and provides you with a feeling of sinking down into the mattress more than sleeping on top of it, but not too much and won’t cause you to sink all the way down through it and feel stuck in bed.

The combination of springs and memory foam does an amazing job of helping support your body while cushioning your hips and shoulders to provide pressure relief where it is needed the most and eliminate any possibility of the appearance of pain and stiffness, or other kinds of discomfort.

Some people don’t like the feel of classic memory foam because it makes them sink too far down into the mattress and feel like they are trapped in foam. The great thing about the Hope Dream mattress is that it gives you the best of both worlds, so you get the bounce and responsiveness of springs but you don’t get that trapped in foam type of feeling.

The mattress is responsive enough in that it will allow you to easily move around in bed during the night and get up and change positions but it’s not too bouncy and won’t transfer your movements across the bed and bounce your partner up.

That’s one of the criticisms that many hybrids and many coils mattresses get as they are a little bit too bouncy. But, the utilization of layers of memory foam on top brings the amount of motion transfer to the minimum.

Overall, the Hope DreamZone Hybrid is a very comfortable mattress, great for all sleeping styles and all types of sleepers even heavier sleepers such as myself. It will provide you with the bounce and responsiveness without disturbing your sleep and the sleep of your partner and with just the right amount of support and amazing hug and contour of memory foam.

Sleeper Profile Table

Side Sleepers

The Hope DreamZone Hybrid mattress falls around a 5 on the firmness scale (10 being the firmest) which makes it a perfect medium-firm mattress capable of suiting a wide range of sleepers with different needs and sleep preferences, but particularly side sleepers.

Why does it work so well for side sleepers? Simply because it’s a hybrid coil/foam mattress that offers the very best of both worlds. It combines a firmer pocketed coil system with the softer layers of the highest quality foams on top to provide an ideal balance of pressure-relieving comfort and support.

It has everything it needs to support your body weight and keep your spine naturally aligned while cushioning your shoulders and hips at the same time and preventing any possibility of the appearance of pressure points.

It will work equally well for lighter sleepers and heavier sleepers such as myself and won’t cause you to wake up with any pain or stiffness in your limbs.

Back and Stomach Sleepers

As for back and stomach sleeping position, we felt this mattress worked perfectly for us when sleeping on our backs, and unlike the previous two mattresses, the Dream worked well for us when sleeping on our stomachs too.

The combination of layers and materials in this mattress and its unique design worked pretty well to lift our body weights and keep our spines naturally aligned when sleeping on our backs.

The mattress did a decent job of supporting our bodies when sleeping on our stomachs as well and didn’t throw our spines out of their natural alignment.

So, if you are a back or stomach sleeper looking for a mattress that will provide you with everything you need for a comfortable and pain-free night’s sleep, you should look no further from the Hope DreamZone Hybrid.

Combo Sleepers

Also, the Hope Dream might be a great choice if you plan on sharing your bed with a partner and you tend to sleep restlessly.

As we have already mentioned, the Hope DreamZone Hybrid offers a nice amount of bounce and responsiveness to allow you to easily change positions during the night and get in and out of bed, but it’s not too much and it won’t transfer movements between you and your partner and interfere with your sleep.

It also won’t cause you to sink too much into the mattress and feel trapped in it or cause your partner to roll into you due to the difference in your weights.

Air Flow/Temperature Control

The Hope DreamZone Hybrid mattress sleeps incredibly cool due to the various cooling technologies utilized in its construction, which make it perfect for hot sleepers.

The combination of the Adaptive cooling technology in the cover and the gel-infused memory foam layers does an incredible job of dispersing excessive body heat, preventing its build-up, and keeping you cool throughout the whole night.

In addition, the inherent coolness of hybrid mattresses featuring pocketed coils in their construction also aids in cooling and improves the overall comfort that you get from this mattress.

You won’t get that hot sticky feel that you commonly get with memory foam mattresses due to the excellent airflow provided by the pocketed coil system and due to the special cooling technologies incorporated in the cover of this mattress and its foam layers.

It didn’t cause us to wake up feeling hot and sweaty, which was something we really were grateful for.

Motion Transfer/Isolation

As for sinkage with this mattress, there’s a small amount of it, but that’s due to my heavier weight that usually compresses the mattresses quite a bit when I’m sitting near the edge.

However, the Hope Dream didn’t cause me to sink all the way down through it and come to rest on the foundation of our bed which is often the case with the lower quality memory foam mattresses.

This mattress really does minimize the sinkage when you lay down on the bed. And it does a great job for couples sleeping together. The pocketed coil springs worked with the memory foam layers on top to lift my heavy body weight and our combined weights sleeping as a couple and distributed them evenly across the bed.

Although this mattress offers a nice degree of bounce and responsiveness, it didn’t cause me to bounce up my partner Kaye and it didn’t cause her to roll down into me or experience that well-known feel of sinking into the hole.

In terms of motion transfer, hybrid mattresses and innerspring mattresses usually have a lot of bounce and responsiveness that might cause motion transfer. However, this wasn’t the case with the Hope DreamZone Hybrid mattress. It does feature a pocketed coil system in its construction, but the use of various layers of memory foam on top brings down the amount of motion transfer to the minimum.

So, the mattress will allow you to easily change positions and get in and out of bed during the night, but you won’t feel any disruption in your sleep and you won’t cause your partner to bounce up on the bed.

Edge Support

Edge support is very good with this mattress and better than in many other hybrid mattresses we’ve reviewed so far.

The edges don’t collapse under you when sitting on them and although I compressed them quite a bit due to my heavy weight, a pocketed coil system did a pretty good job with the memory foam layers to prevent me from sinking too much and bottoming out.

Also, due to the special edge-to-edge coil system, you can sleep near the edges and you won’t roll off the mattress. The Hope DreamZone Hybrid allows you to use the entire surface of the bed without fear of falling off it if you come close to the edges.

Sex

Being a hybrid mattress that features pocketed coil system, the Hope Dream mattress, just like the previous Aspire offers a nice amount of responsiveness and bounce.

A special pocketed coil system used in the construction of this mattress provides just the right amount of responsiveness and pushback allowing easy movement and making this mattress ideal for sex.

Again, regardless of the hybrid design of this mattress and the use of coils in its construction, no squeaky noises will come from it, so you can enjoy its comfort and your late night’s amorous activities without weird bed noise.

Product Conclusion

Should you buy this mattress? We say yes! The Hope DreamZone Hybrid is yet another amazing mattress offered by this innovative mattress company. It is a luxurious pocketed coil and foam hybrid that comes with some special cooling technologies and that performs well in all aspects and scores high in all our categories.

So, if you want an affordable mattress that will provide you with excellent support, bounce, responsiveness, and also incredible pressure relief and comfort, and that will keep you cool throughout the whole night, we say don’t look further from the Hope DreamZone Hybrid mattress.

This and the fact that it comes with a 120-Night sleep trial and an industry-leading lifetime warranty makes this hybrid mattress a great option for everyone.

Commercials

The Hope DreeamZone Hybrid mattress is made in the USA from hypoallergenic materials and it retails for $1380 for a Queen, which is a rather small amount of money for a mattress of such a unique design and all the quality materials and special features and technologies used in its construction.

The company’s tag line is “mattresses for life”, so they offer a warranty for the life of the mattress and a 120-Night sleep trial. Therefore, if you have any issues with your mattress, you can contact the company and they will refund your money.

As for the delivery process, it went pretty smoothly with this company again. They asked for 1-2 days for building and processing our mattress and it arrived after a few days.

We found this mattress, just like the previous two Hope mattresses, pretty easy to handle and set up. As soon as we opened the box and pulled it out of its plastic package, it started to expand. It didn’t take long for it to spring back to its original shape and be ready to sleep on.

Another thing we noticed while unpacking the mattress was the absence of off-gassing smells typical for mattresses made entirely of memory foam or of hybrids featuring memory foam in their construction. So, another big plus from us.
