In this review we take a look at the Little LuuF, a special hybrid mattress designed to suit the needs of children and those with a smaller frame.

Construction and Materials
The Little LuuF mattress is an 8″ hybrid pocketed coil and foam mattress made up of the following layers:
- Top Comfort Layer – This layer is made of quilted gel-infused foam embedded within the top cover of high loft fiber designed to improve airflow and aid in cooling.
- Cooling and Comfort Layer – This layer is made of high density graphite-infused memory foam that relieves pressure points, aids in cooling and distributes body weight evenly across the mattress.
- Transition Layer – This layer is made of a special transition foam designed to provide support and comfort and serve as a transition between the softer top comfort layers and a firmer pocketed coil system below.
- Pocketed Coil Layer – This layer is made of the hundreds of gentle pocketed coils designed to contour to each zone of the child’s body and act as the core support layer and as the foundation for the layers above.
The cover of the Little LuuF is made of Tencel which is known for being extremely strong yet silky soft. It is also highly breathable due to its hollow fiber structure that allows the air to circulate freely through the mattress and helps in temperature regulation during sleep.
The cover has a nice pattern on it that looks great and the foam quilted within it which aids in comfort and airflow. It is also hypoallergenic and prohibits bacteria growth for a clean and healthy sleeping environment.

Firmness & Support
The Little LuuF mattress only comes in one firmness option, which we rate at a 6 out of 10 (10 being the firmest).
Although it may initially feel a bit firm, especially for smaller kids, the Little LuuF will adapt to their bodies as the time passes as it features the special coil system with hundreds of gentle pocketed coils that contour to each zone of a child’s body and that are far more adaptive than coils used in the mattresses for grown up people.

It has just enough give in the top comfort layers to cradle shoulders and hips, while also having the firmness necessary to keep the spine properly aligned if kids switch to their stomachs or backs – without causing hip or shoulder pain from sinking down too low into the mattress.
The Little LuuF mattress provides a good degree of support that a child needs from the pocketed coil foundation layer combined with the soft top comfort layers.
Comfort
The Little LuuF is an extremely comfortable mattress specially designed with kids in mind. It provides an ideal balance of comfort and support needed to help kids overcome their growing pains and promote their proper growth and development.
Its top comfort layers are made of soft and pressure relieving foams that will adapt to child’s body, eliminate any discomfort and stimulate deeper sleep, while the mattress also offers enough support from its unique pocketed coil layer that provides support where it is needed most.

There is also a nice degree of bounce and responsiveness coming from the coils combined with the foam mattress top layers providing good body contour and hug along with cooling and comfort. This also facilitates moving around in bed and getting in and out of it during the night.

The Little LuuF mattress sleeps incredibly cool due to the use of the gel and graphite infused foams layers and the special pocketed coil layer that allows greater airflow through the mattress.

Sinkage & Motion Transfer
The Little LuuF mattress does an good job with sinkage and motion transfer especially compared to most mattresses we have reviewed.
As we always preach, sinkage and motion transfer are largely weight dependent and kids who are slightly heavier might sink a bit more than smaller kids of a lighter weight.
The top comfort layers made of softer foams will allow kids to sink into them to a certain degree while the somewhat firmer transition layer will slowly transition their body weight into the pocketed coil layer and work with it to keep them from sinking too much into the mattress and feeling enveloped by it.
Edge support is very good with this mattress. Kids can sit or sleep near the edges without compressing them too much or experiencing the well known feel of “rolling off” the edges.
Motion transfer is more present than with most all foam mattresses we have reviewed, as to be expected with a hybrid coil mattress which provides more bounce than a foam or latex mattress due to the innerspring coils in its construction. However, it is nothing too extreme and won’t interfere with the child’s sleep.
Smell / Off-Gassing
This bed gets high marks in this category for not having too much of a noticeable smell upon opening the box. The hybrid coil / foam construction minimized the degree of off-gassing that all foam mattresses usually have.

Summary
The Little LuuF is one of the best mattresses for kids. It is an amazing foam / coil hybrid designed to suit all needs and sleep preferences of kids and promote their proper growth and development.
It features various layers of foams and provides the benefits of both innerspring and memory foam mattresses in a comfortable and supportive mattress at a great price.
It is a medium firm mattress that provides excellent zoned support for all sleeping styles, and provides a higher degree of bounce and responsiveness from the coil hybrid design. While this makes the mattress have more motion transfer, this is to be expected for these type of designs.
