)Construction and Materials
The Amore Luxury Hybrid mattress is a 12.5″ pocketed coil, latex and foam hybrid made up of 5 layers:
- 1″ GOTS Organic Wool Blend layer – This layer is 1″ of sustainably-sourced GOTS organic wool blended with quilting fibers and soft foam for incredible comfort. This wool also acts as a flame retardant, is naturally breathable and helps regulate body temperature by cushioning you with a thin layer of air.
- 3″ 100% Natural Talalay Latex Layer – This layer is 3″ of 100% natural Talalay latex designed to provide the right amount of support necessary for proper spinal alignment. It also relieves pressure points, allows greater airflow through the mattress and aids in cooling.
- 2″ Hyper-Contouring Open-Cell Transition Foam Layer – This layer is 2″ of polyurethane foam that contours to your body and serves as a transition layer from the softer comfort layers to the more supportive coils while its open-cell structure also makes it highly breathable and helps in dissipating excessive body heat.
- 6″ Wrapped Coils & Reinforced Edge Support – This layer is made of 6″ of individually wrapped support coils that provide individualized support and allow greater airflow through the mattress for additional cooling. This layer also offers enough bounce and responsiveness while isolating your movement to minimize sleep disturbance. Dual density perimeter coils increase mattress durability, provide more sleep surface and enhance edge support.
- 1″ Base Layer – This layer is 1″ of long-lasting ultra-supportive base foam that acts as a solid and durable foundation for the layers above and boosts the overall support and comfort of this mattress.
The cover of the Amore Luxury Hybrid mattress is made from soft and durable organic cotton that meets Global Organic Textile Standards certification and that is also hypoallergenic. It helps draw away excessive body heat and effectively wicks away moisture to provide you with an optimal level of comfort.

Amore Copper Mattress Cover
The mattress we reviewed included the option of a therapeutic copper-ion infused cover which provides anti-microbial and anti-fungal benefits to the mattress, removes odor and helps improve the appearance and texture of skin.
The Amore Luxury Hybrid is designed to fit any surface and work with most frames and foundations, including platform beds, adjustable beds, box springs, slats or event the floor.
Firmness & Support
The Amore Luxury Hybrid mattress is offered in two firmness options: Luxury Medium and Luxury Firm while you also have the ability to split the mattress and have individual firmness settings for each side, so you can choose what works best for you.
The one we tried is Luxury Medium mattress without the individual split sections and we would say it is around a 6 on the firmness scale (10 being the firmest), so it’s neither too soft nor too firm.
The company rates this mattress in pretty much the same way or a bit softer as can be seen from the graphic given bellow that can also be found on their site.
We are primarily side sleepers and we like mattresses that have enough give in the top comfort layers to cradle our shoulders and hips, while also having the firmness if we switch to our stomachs or backs.
Most hybrid mattresses feel on the firmer side to me, as I am significantly heavier than Kaye, and I tend to press through the top comfort layers and feel more of the support layers, but this wasn’t the case with the 12.5″ thick Amore Luxury Hybrid mattress.
Comfortable materials used in the top comfort layers cradled and cushioned my hips and shoulders to prevent the appearance of pressure points while the 6″ pocketed coil layer bellow supported my heavy weight (230lbs) with ease and stopped me from sinking too deep into the mattress.
The top comfort layers provide extraordinary comfort and pressure relief while the individually wrapped coils below quickly adjust to your body’s position as you move around in bed during the night and provide the deep compression support for the body.
Therefore, this mattress offers a perfect balance of comfort and support and works well for all types of sleepers and all sleeping styles.
There is also a nice amount of bounce and responsiveness to this mattress coming from its hybrid coil construction and the latex layer which facilitate changing positions and getting in and out of bed during the night, provide you with a nice lift and prevent you from sinking too deep into the mattress and feel enveloped by it.
Comfort
The Amore Luxury Hybrid is extremely comfortable with its 12.5″ thickness and a 100% natural latex layer that contours to the unique curves of your body and quickly responds to your movements to ensure you are adequately cushioned throughout the night while the soft wool on top really makes for a comfortable sleeping surface.
These layers combined with the individually pocketed coils do an excellent job of relieving pressure points, isolating movement and keeping your spine properly aligned.
As soon as you lie down on this mattress you will feel the softness and luxuriousness of the cotton cover and organic wool inner layer that offer a gentle feel and along with the open-cell structure of the latex layer help regulate temperature while the pocketed coil layer beneath will provide you with a nice lift and support and prevent you from sinking too deep into the mattress and feel enveloped by it.

Amore Luxury Hybrid corner view
The hybrid construction of this mattress with the pocketed coil support layer and the Talalay latex layer responds and adjusts to your body as you move at night and provides the expected bounce which makes this mattress perfect for sex as well.
We feel the Amore Luxury Hybrid does a great job at providing comfortable sleep in all sleeping positions, and the soft cover and organic wool beneath only contribute to this and to the overall luxuriousness of this mattress.
Back sleepers and stomach sleepers will also find this hybrid good for those styles as well, as it is firm enough to provide support and comfort for those sleeping styles without being too soft and causing excessive sinkage.
Sleeping Hot
The Amore Luxury Hybrid also sleeps incredibly cool due to use of the breathable cotton cover, organic wool and latex layer that are naturally cooling materials which allow greater airflow through the mattress and disperse excessive body heat.
Being a hybrid, this bed also includes the pocketed coil layer and the grid construction of its coils allows the air to circulate freely through the mattress and aid in cooling.
The use of the organic wool in this mattress, latex layer, cooling FusionFlex foams, and a soft and breathable cotton cover combined with the hybrid coil construction all do a great job of ensuring the mattress sleeps cooler than most mattresses we have reviewed.
Sinkage & Motion Transfer
The Amore Luxury Hybrid mattress does a great job of preventing excessive sinkage, especially when compared to most other mattresses we have reviewed.
As we always preach, sinkage and motion transfer are largely weight dependent, and the fact that I weigh around 230lbs tends to have a rather large bearing on the degree of sinkage I experience when sitting and lying on mattresses.
My heavy weight causes them to compress down quite a bit and I often come to rest on their firmer support layers which are usually hard and not so comfortable.
But, this wasn’t the case with the Amore Luxury Hybrid mattress. Sinkage was not a problem with this mattress, and while I compressed its top comfort layers to a certain degree, I did not feel the coil layer beneath.

Amore Luxury Hybrid profile view
Its nice 12.5″ thickness, the 6″ pocketed coil layer and latex layer prevented me from sinking too deep into the mattress and provided me with a nice lift and the feeling of sleeping on top of a mattress rather than inside it.
When it comes to the edge support, the Amore Luxury Hybrid stands out from all other hybrid mattresses here due to its ActiveEdge perimeter construction which increases its durability and prevents the sinkage in the least bit when you sit or sleep near the edge. I didn’t compress the mattress much at all when sleeping or sitting near the edge and I didn’t experience any of the “rolling-off the edges” feel.
Motion transfer is more pronounced with this mattress due to its specific hybrid design, the use of pocketed coils in its construction and latex layer that provides more bounce than traditional memory foam.
However, we didn’t feel much disruption in our sleep or shaking of the mattress when changing positions or getting in and out of bed during the night which is often the case with these types of mattresses which are bouncier and more responsive due to their innerspring construction.
Smell / Off-Gassing
The Amore Luxury Hybrid also gets high marks for not having much of a noticeable smell upon opening the box. A specific hybrid construction of this mattress minimized the degree of off-gassing and any smell that was present dissipated within a few hours.
